Cameron was welcomed into the Catholic faith on Saturday in a family ceremony with the support of his godparents, Michael (Matt’s brother) and Sabrina (Friend). We chose these two to show Cameron that faith is important, and to set a good example of faith, hope and love.
We had a beautiful ceremony that included Cameron being baptized with water that included some drops directly from the Jordan River, which is where Jesus was baptized.
After being baptized he was anointed with chrism blessed by the bishop, which is where the term ‘Christening’ comes from.
We were surrounded by family, and after we headed back to the house for a brunch celebration.
The menu included:
Shrimp Cocktail
Smoked Salmon (Matt’s favorite!)
Breakfast Strata
Sweet Potato Hash
Fresh Fruit Salad
Zucchini Bread
Rolls/bagels
Crockpot Hot Chocolate
Mulled Wine
Beer
Juices
Water
And to end it all we had cake, which we nearly forgot all about after eating everything else! Maybe it was because it was just too pretty!
We created the cake ourselves, and even made a ‘healthier’ version by using a Paleo recipe for Carrot Cake and a gluten free cream cheese recipe. It was actually really good!
We had a great celebration and a great day with everyone, celebrating despite the snowy weather outside!

What a nice day and a fabulous family photo! Happy baptism Cameron!
And what a beautiful cake!
